HEAL Haiti builds programs to meet each of these needs, through clinical training, exam preparation, scholarships, community clinics, and disaster response. Strengthening a healthcare system takes more than one kind of investment.
Our Ongoing Programs
IMPACT Project
A six-day intensive clinical training program for Haitian physicians and nurse practitioners. Advanced curriculum co-developed with Haitian partners and U.S. guest lecturers from Johns Hopkins, NYU, and beyond. Includes live patient clinics.
Nursing Scholarships
We fund Haitian nursing students, prioritizing second-year learners, when financial pressure most often forces students to withdraw. These scholarships help talented people finish their training and return to serve their communities.
Community Health Clinics
Community health fairs bring essential services to underserved populations while giving providers hands-on training. Each clinic is built around local needs. Thousands of patients have received care through these events.
P.R.E.P. Nursing Residency
A two-week nurse residency program in Pignon, Haiti, that prepares newly trained nurses for state licensure through simulation, clinical practicum, and exam prep. Run in partnership with the Université d'État d'Haïti and the Hôpital Bienfaisance de Pignon.
Brooklyn Immigrant Health Initiative
Brooklyn and Queens are home to one of the largest Haitian immigrant populations in the country, facing many of the same barriers to care as Haiti: language, trust, and access. HEAL Haiti runs health fairs, screenings, and mental health seminars at partner churches, bringing blood pressure checks, chronic disease education, and one-on-one consultations directly into the community in English and Haitian Creole.
